Variety Staff A harrowing, gruesome, morbid tale of war.
Jonathan Rosenbaum Deserves its reputation as a classic.

Mordaunt Hall Messrs. Milestone, Abbott and Anderson in this film have contributed a memorable piece of work to the screen.
