Joan Denoo I lived at Wildwood Station Army Receiver Site 1959-1961 where my husband was a dentist serving his two year obligation tour for ROTC. It was a wonderful adventure, full of people from all over the world, and the local population had the most gracious native population who invited me to participate in all kinds of adventures, including a sweat lodge, fishing, sewing fur, cooking. Homesteaders were an interesting lot, very independent and great people to talk with about living in such an environment. I hated the military life but found great pleasure in the individuals. I had a TV weather and news program at the army TV station called "Climatical Joan, the Kenai Weather Eye."
