    Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the united states was a navy officer and a peanut farmer. He became president 1977, during the time when USA has been experiencing international crisis and domestic recession. His supposed failure in handling these issues lead to his reelection defeat. He later turned to diplomacy and was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.
